So once you have got your brand new shiny Swegway, it is important you learn how to look after and maintain it. Like anything in life the more you care and look after something the longer service it will give you. Let’s be honest, you don’t want to damage your board as soon as you have got it.

To help you get the most out of your board, we have put together this blog post with the tops tips on maintaining your Swegway.

The Battery

Just like any item that uses a battery, the more care you take the better.

The battery in your iSwegway board is Samsung or LG lithium-ion and is of the highest quality available. We recommend using and recharging the battery fully every time to ensure that the battery is well maintained.

It is a seriously bad idea to leave the battery charging overnight so make sure you give that a miss!

Speed

Swegways can travel around 10-12 mph, depending on the conditions. However, just because something can go at a certain speed does not mean you need to do this. We do not recommend you attempt to ride at the maximum speed, especially if you are not on perfectly flat ground.

If you really want to try a faster speed then please ensure you practice to a level where you can confidently ride with complete control and stability. We don’t want to hear about how you fell off and hurt yourself. Also, bear in mind the faster you go the more chance there is that you will damage the board.

Water

Your Swegway should not be exposed to too much water. Do not ride through puddles or in heavy rain, this really is not going to help the maintenance of your board.

Keep it as dry as you can!

Riding Safely

To ensure you get the most out of your Swegway, riding the board safely is an absolute must.

As a general rule, be sensible on your board and don’t do anything if you are not in full control. Riding a Swegway is like riding any other motorised vehicle; it can be dangerous especially if the user is not in full control.

Whilst learning to ride the board, ensure you remain on flat, stable ground and wear protective gear such as a helmet and knee and elbow pads (you can buy these from us here).

Also, remember that Swegways are a toy so should be fun and entertaining to use, they are not designed to be used as regular transportation.

Finally ensure you:

  • Don’t ride with more than one person on the Swegway
  • Check your weight including any items being carried do not exceed the allowable limits
  • Don’t use your mobile phone while riding the board
  • Avoid driving the board in narrow spaces
  • Do not ride on steep slopes
  • Ride with care, so you can live to tell the tale of how much fun you had on your Swegway

We want you to get the most out of your Swegway experience and by taking care of your board, you will do exactly that!
